HiGA is a comprehensive junior and senior high school,
which also employs a full boarding system.
We foster leaders who create in their community
“a better future” for sustainable peace and development.
01 Approximately 20％ of all students will be international students (grades 10~12)
Students work or discuss with culturally diverse people and foster a “global outlook” and a “heart rooted in community.”
※About 20 international students per grade
02Teaching staff with a wealth of international experience
Some teachers have teaching experiences in IBDP schools abroad. All the teachers are from different backgrounds and nationalities. The teaching staff all work together to create and design diverse and innovative types of “learning.”
03 Learning in English (except Japanese class)
All 2nd year junior high and 1st year high school students will undergo overseas training.
They will enhance their practical English communication skills in order to be able to deliberate with a global outlook and convey their thoughts with confidence.
04The International Baccalaureate Program(IBDP)
We design learning activities based on the IB mission statement ”To develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and peaceful world.”
※Regarding implementation; there are 3 stages from application to accreditation (interest, candidate, accreditation), with a clear line between application items and timelines in each stage. Every school aiming for IB accreditation is required to pass through all of these stages reg
05Project-based learning in cooperation with international organizations
Students tackle local and global issues and acquire the skills and mindset to take leading roles in various fields in the future.
06Living and learning in a full boarding system
Students will live together with colleagues of different ages and nationalities, so they will create ties that go beyond borders and foster global mindset.
